    Medal with loop at the top (a) and red and gray striped trifold ribbon (b). The obverse features a bust of Emperor Karl with his name in Latin "CAROLVS" above and a wreath of laurels below. Between the bust and the laurels in smaller letters is the name "R. PLACHT." The reverse featured the words "LAESO MILITI" and the date in Roman numerals "MCMXVIII."
