- Interview Summary
- Luigi Baldan, a former Italian Navy member who refused to work with the Nazis and Italian fascists. He was captured and imprisoned in the former Yugoslavia in September of 1943. Baldan was imprisoned in Kudowa-Sackisch concentration camp in Poland where he witnessed the mistreatment of a group Jewish girls, interactions with female camp guards, and life in the camp. Luigi Baldan later escaped to Czechoslovakia where he was assisted by local citizens. Baldan then proceded to Prague to contact the Italian consulate, while in Prague Baldan was contacted by two of the Jewish girls who had been prisoners in Kudowa-Sackisch. The testimony is provided in Italian with English subtitles.
