- Contains the personal papers and official communication of Bishop Alois Hudal (May 31, 1885 – May 13, 1963), the rector of the Pontifical Institute Santa Maria dell'Anima, located in Rome, from 1923 to 1952. Features hundreds of personal letters to Bishop Hudal from individuals requesting financial and logistical assistance during and after the war. Includes incoming communication to Bishop Hudal from former SS members such as Walter Reder and Herbert Kappler, as well as Charlotte Wächter, the widow of Otto Wächter, the former SS Governor of Cracow and later Galicia who died in Rome in 1949. Also features Bishop Hudal's writings and published articles.
