Overview
- Description
- Documents, correspondence, postcard and photographs illustrating the experiences of Arthur and Hermine Porges and their son Fritz of Vienna, Austria. The documents illustrate Fritz's flight to the United Kingdom with the Kindertransport, his mother's later arrival there and his father's flight to the east into Italy in an effort to leave. Arthur was then interned in Ferramonti concentration camp in Italy and later transferred to Fort Ontario, then to Oswego, in 1945. Hermine and Fritz reunited with Arthur in 1947.
