Sebastian Schmid was a member of the SS who served as a driver at Dachau from mid-1938 to 1941.  He was tried by the U.S. Military Government Court at Dachau in 1947 for "participation in the killing of Polish inmates."  Convicted and initially sentenced to life imprisonment, Schmid's sentence was eventually reduced to time served in 1951.
