- Biography
- Hynda Szczukowski (now Halpern) is the daughter of Mojzesz and Hela Szczukowski. Originally from Lodz, the Szczukowski family fled to the east in 1939. They spent the early years of the war in Siberia, before relocating to Zamin in 1941. After the war, they made their way to Germany, where they lived in the Hofgeismar displaced persons camp until 1948.
