    Biography
Herbert Albin is the son of Akady Albin (b, 9/22/1906) and the grandson of Mikhael and Freida (Gold) Albin. He had one brother, Ilya. Arkady lived in Latvia and in Germany and worked in the import export business. In 1933 he immigrated to the United States. In April of 1936, Arkady's mother Freida, died of a melanoma. Because he could not attend the funeral, his family hired a professional photographer to take 24 pictures of the entire funeral, from her in her shroud to the final burial.
In 1938 his father, Mikhael, and in 1940 his brother Ilya, immigrated to the United States via Cuba.
