- File 11: Findings of the Stanislavkiy Oblast Commission for the Investigation and Determination of Crimes committed by German Criminals 1944, Findings of the Stanislavkiy Oblast Commission for the Investigation and Determination of Crimes committed by German Criminals during the mass extermination of Soviet citizens in the Stanislavkiy Oblast. On 1 September 1941, the German-Fascist invasion of the city of Stanislav brought the head of the Gestapo Hans Kruger and other members of the Gestapo: Shott, Tausch, Brand, Miller, and Mauer. A detailed description is provided on how Soviet citizens and Jews were systematically exterminated. Instructions to implement the so-called “Blue Monday” operation were defined, the 1st stage (8 September 1941) extermination of Soviet intelligentsia of Stanislav. Names of some victims and numbers according to professions provided. Plans for the 2nd stage of annihilation (December 1941) are cited; the establishment of the Jewish ghetto and various atrocities committed there are described. Whereas on 20 December 1941 20,000 people were gathered in the ghetto, by January 1944, only about 5,000 to 7,000 survived. Extermination of Jews and Soviet citizens in Rogatiny, Bylshowvtsy, Kosovy, Galichy, and Gorodenko are also described.
