- Presents all the existing information on the deportation of Jewish children from France to concentration camps during World War II. Pp. 31-338 contain lists of the 84 transports between March 1942-August 1944, giving the names of the children in each transport, their date and place of birth, the name of the transit camp, and the last address of the child if known. 11,104 children were deported and killed, mainly in Auschwitz. Pp. 339-1546 contain about 1,800 photographs of children, with information on their fate and the fate of their families. Pp. 1547-1650 trace the history of restrictive measures against French Jewry in 1940-44 and their impact on children. Pp. 1651-1677 recount the role played by the Union Générale des Israélites de France in attempting to rescue as many children as possible by placing them in children's homes. This edition contains 250 photographs more than in the 1994 edition. (From the Bibliography of the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism).
