- Summary
- Documents the events that took place in Rhina, a small Prussian village, in 1939 when the Jewish population was beaten, their synagogue burned, and their property destroyed before they were expelled from the village. Interviews with German Christians living in the village at the time explore the question of responsibility for these acts, while interviews with surviving Jews describe the harmonious life in the village prior to the 1930s and the deteriorating atmosphere of hatred and racism by the end of the decade.
