- Summary
- "In contemplating the enormity of the Holocaust and the millions murdered, one can lose sight of all the individuals and the impact of each loss on the world. What helps to illuminate this impact are the distinct stories of each mother or father, child or grandmother, and how they survived or did not, and what their loss meant to those who knew them. It is through these personal stories that the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center teaches our visitors about the history and lesson of the Holocaust. Unfortunately, for many years the stories of the murder, persecution, and displacement of Jews in the former Soviet Union (FSU) at the hands of the Nazis have not been widely known or widely told. Also missing from Western understanding of the Holocaust have been the courage, strength, and resistance of these Jews. Through the publication of Never Heard--Never Forget, the Museum is proud to help provide a more complete narrative of the Holocaust and to honor the many individuals who were lost but must not be forgotten."--Foreword
