- Summary
- This book studes the issue of forcible child transfer and forced marriages during the Armenian Genocide, considering it as a structural element of the Ottoman genocidal policy. It also presents the involvement and efforts of the League of Nations to rescue Armenian Genocide survivors. With this aim, the organization established the Commission of Enquiry for the Protection of Women and Children in the Near East with a mission to rescue Christian women and children from Muslim captivity. The Commission opened headquarters in Aleppo and Constantinople. The headquarter in Aleppo, the so-called Aleppo Rescue Home, with Karen Jeppe as the Commissioner, was able to rescue and shelter nearly 2.000 Armenian Genocide survivors from Muslim captivity. This book presents the surveys of 1464 Armenian Genocide survivors who were rescued and sheltered in the Aleppo Rescue Home by Karen Jeppe. Those surveys were brought from the League of Nations archive and are presented in the English originals with Armenian translations, with the verified geographical locations and the photographs of the survivors.
