The eternal road an encounter with the past / a film by Ron Frank.
Filmmaker Ron Frank documents the return of his father and aunt to Chemnitz, a German town that was once home to 3500 Jews, and the staging there of Kurt Weill's musical drama, Der Weg der Verheissung. First staged in New York City in 1937, the opera was intended to symbolize the threatened condition of Jews in Germany.
