Overview
- Summary
- Varian Fry and Ernst Hanfstaengl, Adolf Hitler's press secretary, met briefly in Berlin in 1935. Hanfstaengl's comments on divisions within the Nazi party on the Jewish question, were to have a profound impact on Fry's actions nearly a decade later on behalf of Jewish refugees in Nazi-occupied France. This film examines the lives of two men who responded differently to the cataclysmic events of the Second World War.
