Overview
- Summary
- Twelve women, all in their seventies, all attending the same school, tell how their youth in the southern German city, Ulm, changed swiftly and radically when the Nazis seized power. Suddenly being Jewish or Christian meant persecution for some; for others an "innocent" enthusiasm as they joined the Hitler Youth. The film not only relates sometimes painful memories against a rich backdrop of archive material, but gradually and touchingly bears testimony to distinct, complex and life-changing experiences.
