    (Munich 619) War Crimes Trials - Subsequent Trial Proceedings, Case 1 (Medical Case), Nuremberg, Germany. Sentencing of defendants in the Nuremberg "Medical Trial." Most are sentenced to death by hanging or life imprisonment.
    Slate reads: "Army Pictorial Division. War Crimes Trials. Sentencing. 20 Aug. Last 700. Case #1. CAM 369, MAG 522. Nuremberg War Crimes Trials: "Medical Case" " MHSs, defendants individually step into prisoners' dock to hear sentencing (expressionless faces). Camera remains on defendants as voice of presiding judge is heard sentencing each one. Sentences are handed down by the court: 01:35:30 Karl Brandt (Hitler's personal physician): Death by hanging. Led into box; MP at each side; MP places headphones on Brandt's head; very serious, stiff and expressionless; smoothes back hair when headphone is removed. Siegfried Handloser: life imprisonment. Enters courtroom, fidgets with headphone. Oskar Schroeder: life imprisonment. CU, MS, MP cap, young boys. Karl Genzken: life imprisonment. Blinks. CU, Karl Gebhardt (Himmler's personal physician): breathing quickly. Death by hanging. Rudolf Brandt: Death by hanging. Soldier hesitates, reaches to move earphones awkwardly. Brandt closes his eyes; no movement, turns to go. Joachim Mrugowsky: Death by hanging. Looks briefly at soldier. Helmut Poppendik: 10 years imprisonment. Wolfram Sievers: Death by hanging. Gerhard Rose (with goatee): life imprisonment. Viktor Brack: Death by hanging. Hermann Becker-Freysung: Twenty years imprisonment (camera cuts off before last sentence is pronounced).
