LS girls in a circle, playing an orderly game with the nun. Boys too. Some stare at camera. Girls in braided pigtails, bows, smocks. Crowding around camera (VQ: a bit softer). Lunchtime outside. Children wearing blue uniforms (color improves). CU of lovely faces, innocent, happy. They clown and compete for the camera. Boys play in courtyard, carry shoes. MCU playing with marble on board. - The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum purchased this from the Bundesarchiv in Berlin, Germany in September 1991. The footage was transferred at Bibo TV in Germany and obtained as research for the Museum's Permanent Exhibition.
- Note
- See departmental files for an article about the "Gypsy" children of St. Josefspflege, in Germany, by Johannes Meister. The children were deported to Auschwitz early in 1944. These are the last films of them before deportation. Also, refer to files for a one-page contract identifying rights.
