March of Time -- outtakes -- Sudeten-Deutsche Party; Eger

Can 22, 100 feet. Scenes taken in the headquarters of the Sudeten-Deutsche party at 4 Hybernska Prague. Deputy Karl Hermann Frank leader of both Parliamentary factions of the S.D.P. and personal representative of Henlein. Signing letters at his desk, talking to his secretary.

Can 23. 100 feet. Frank leaving headquarters for the country receiving the salute. Party members arriving at the desk in the entrance, giving and receiving the salute. Member at desk signing form, giving salute and leaving. Banner on wall, in German, reads: "Heimat is Arbeit" in BG. Two takes. Three shots of members arriving at the entrance with sign: "Sudeten-Deutsche Partie"

Three shots of party members sitting at a table discussing a map on the wall, headed "States and Nations" with the German language written in blue, CU of type. CU, book banned in Czechoslovakia entitled "Fighting and Suffering" of the Sudeten-Germans, with hand turning pages.

Reel 55. 100 feet. Scenes made of Konrad Henlein, leader of the Sudeten-Deutsche Party at his office in Prague. Henlein walks into the room and sits down at his desk, opens folder. Party flag hangs on wall behind desk. CU, Heinlen talking on the phone and taking notes. CU, Heinlen talking.

Reel 56. 100 feet. Shot of Heinlen discussing language map of Europe, with Dr. Steinbichl and the first press officer of the Party, Dr. Wilhelm Sebekowsky. Parliamentary factions of the S.D.P. instead of Dr. Steinbichl. Shot of Henlein standing as if addressing a meeting with his party flag in the background.

Reel 33. 100 feet. Eger, or Cheb in Czech, main train junction between Germany and Czechoslovakia (27,000 inhabitants, practically 100% German). General view of the market place, with police station sign in German and Czech. Czech policeman patroling the street. People (possibly German) looking at photographs of a Sudeten-Deutsche Party meeting. People reading German papers.

Group of people looking at a map of Spain, most members of the S-D Party wear plus-fours (knickers) often with white socks. Shot of chapel with fresco paid for by Henlein, in memory of the Germans in the neihgborhood of Eger who died during World War I. Fresco painted in 1936.

Reel 35. 100 feet. Scenes made on the platform of Eger station, with the arrival of the Paris-Prague train. Shot of German and Czech customs officials awaiting the arrival of the train. Two shots, different angles of the train arriving, one with the sign Eger-Cheb in the BG. Station master in cloak on platform no. 3. Passengers going into customs.
