    1930 election campaign

    Overview

    Description
1930 election campaign; various political parties campaigning. Intertitles in Russian. Motorized billboards, people handing out communist leaflets, demonstrating. Shots of police. A man in the sidecar of a motorcycle waves a Nazi flag as he rides down the street. Banners representing various parties hang from windows. Exterior shots of the KPD and Nazi party headquarters (?). SA reading a newspaper and marching in the street, shot from above and ground level. Good shots of SA marching. Police disembarking from vehicle. Perhaps street violence? Antifascists marching. Police and SA examine an overturned vehicle, from which a woman is removed. People bearing placards indicating the party they support. Men hang a communist banner, "vote List 3!" from a balcony. More shots of banners hanging from buildings and people wearing placards. A group of children hold Nazi flags; another group of children, in a swimming bath in a park, make the communist (?) salute. More shots of children, including a little blond girl holding a Nazi flag. People going to vote (?), including an old man who is helped into the building by two other men. Brief interior of the polling place. Shots of political posters adorning street poles, including a poster that shows Hitler and one of Thaelmann. Brief shot of KPD signs and hammer and sickle flags hanging from a building, presumably the KPD's headquarters.
