Overview
- Description
- 18:01:24 Kurt Hipser confronts Barbie on his imprisonment in Montluc and discusses his collection of Nazi propaganda.
18:27:30 Julie Franceschini, an invalid carried into the courtroom, was arrested in February 1944, spent four months in the Montluc Gestapo prison in Lyons, and was both beaten and held under water by Barbie and a French collaborator, Francis Andre. She says she witnessed several tortures and killings and discusses her arrest, interrogation, torture, deportation to Ravensbruck, and "Nacht und Nebel." 18:44:45 "Oh yes! Oh yes!" Franceschini cries, turning with difficulty to look at Barbie in the glass-enclosed defendant's box. "It's him. Those eyes. I was stunned by his blows, but eyes like that you don't forget."
Barbie enters the courtroom at 18:29:34 with his interpreter Claire Burkel.
18:53:50 Andre Courvoisier was arrested as a suspected member of the Resistance in 1943 and eventually deported to Ravensbruck. He testifies about his arrest and interrogation. - Film Title
