Video copy of 8mm black and white home movies of the Jacoby family’s visit to Biecz, Poland and other European cities in 1936. Samuel and Marie Jacoby borrowed $2,000 from a Home Savings and Loan for a trip to Europe with their sons, Willis (17) and Mark (12), from August to September 1936. It was Samuel's first visit to his home in Biecz, Poland in 25 years. The family took the SS Champlain and spent two weeks visiting relatives, the synagogue, Jewish communal schools, and the library in Biecz. The Jacobys stopped in Budapest to visit Marie's family and then toured other European cities. They sailed back to their home in Wilmington, DE on the SS Lafayette. Samuel documented their travels with an 8mm film camera.
