- The collection consists of the investigative materials, reports and statements compiled by the military commissions of the Red (Soviet) Army established for the investigation of the crimes committed by the Nazis and their collaborators on the occupied territories of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe during WWII.

- System of Arrangement
- Documents have been arranged according to the 19 surveys conducted by the staff of the original archives. Each folder is numbered according to the number of survey which has the detailed description of contents. These surveys (in Russian) are at the front of each folder of documents and provide document descriptions. A list of missing documents ( due to the poor quality of the original documents some of the documents are not reproduced) attached separately.
