Brief Narrative: The Sachsenberg psychiatric asylum, which is where this bed was used, was one of many hospitals in Nazi Germany that participated in the murder of the physically and the psychologically handicapped patients, which began as a movement ordered by Hitler to rid the country of these disabled persons. By WWII, approximately 1000-1100 patients were held in Sachsenberg.
