    Biography
    Yiddish poet and playwright, originally from Czernowitz (Chernivtsi), Bukovina. Best known for his poetry published in Warsaw during the 1920s and 1930s, as well as his plays that re-worked Biblical stories and themes from this same time period. Emigrated to France, North Africa, England, and then to Israel.
