    Brief Narrative
    Detachable lens and green camera filter used by Hugo Jaeger, one of Hitler's personal photographers before and during World War II (1939-1945). The filter and lens are part of a collection that highlights the Nazi rise to power leading up to and during the war. The materials include photographic equipment and accessories, 50 color slides, and a leaflet written by Frank R. Eisner entitled "Shadows of the Past", which describes the slides.

    Physical Description
    Circular, green, flat, glass filter mounted in a black-painted metal ring with a beveled inner face and a flat rim with smooth sides. The base has flat sides and three evenly-spaced, tension prongs. The interior is also flat, with a narrow ledge near the top, which supports the piece of glass. The filter is fitted to the bottom of a circular, convex, clear glass lens mounted in a silver-colored, metal ring with a beveled, black-painted inner face and narrow rim. A narrow, raised, ridged band wraps around the midpoint of the exterior sides, with three evenly-spaced, prongs beneath. Manufacturing information is engraved around the beveled face of both rings.
