- The original documents were created by various Italian foreign missions in Europe; a Roman Catholic Church Official; the Italian Embassy in Athens; the Italian Army under Mussolini's pro-fascist regime; the President of the Jewish community of Spalato; and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1941 to 1943. Additionally, the report dated 1946 on the activities carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to protect the Jewish communities (1938-1943) contains copies of correspondence produced by Gestapo officials and other pro-fascists. The photocopies in this collection were created by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs along with typescript inventories in English. These items were sent to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives in Apr. 1993 via the Italian Embassy in Washington, D.C.
