- The memoir was written by Martina Baudis in 1968. Her mother, Helga Baudis, left a copy with Hilda Thieberger, a member of a Jewish family currently living in Maryland, whom the Baudis family had hid in Nazi Germany. Hilda Thieberger gave the memoir to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on 12 May 1993.
