    Gerhard and Alice Zadek are survivors of the Holocaust. Gerhard Zadek was a member of a resistance movement against the Nazis. Both Gerhard and his future wife, Alice, immigrated to England in 1939 from Berlin, Germany. They returned to Berlin in 1947.

    Administrative Notes

    The collection of photographs and copyprints was compiled in 1990 during preparation of the publication of a "Ein Judenjunge Vom Alex" by Alice and Gerhard Zadek. The photographs were taken while the Zadeks were involved in an illegal youth group led by Herbert Baum. Information about the fate of family members was interwoven during compilation.
