- "Message to the six million" was written by Viola Sutliff ca. 1976. It was published in the "Intermountain Jewish news" in 1976. The poem was rewritten as part of a letter addressed to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on 11 July 1985. The letter was initially received in the Communications Department of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council by Marcia Feldman. The letter was later forwarded to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives.
