    Description
    Contains photocopies of documents featured during a memorial exhibit 1988-1989 relating to Kristallnacht produced by the Staatsarchiv Potsdam. The documents contain information about pogroms, persecution of Jewish business owners, arrests of Jewish merchants, destruction of synagogues, and the shutdown of Jewish-owned factories. Of special interest is a 1934 document concerning the emigration Albert and Else Einstein.

    Conditions on Access
    This material can only be accessed in a Museum reading room or other on-campus viewing stations. Researchers must complete and sign a User Declaration to gain access to this collection.
    Conditions on Use
    The User Declaration is required to read and sign. The Museum and third parties may not use information contained in archival material that identifies individual persons unless the persons to whom the information pertains have been deceased for more than 10 years or are historical figures or individuals carrying out their official government duties. (If the date of death is not possible to ascertain, the information will be protected for 90 years after the birth date of the person concerned.) Prior to the end of such protection period, if applicable, the information can be used if it is rendered anonymous. The Museum shall obtain in advance the written approval of the BLHA before making exceptions to this requirement. The Museum shall not transfer its own reproductions of BLHA archival material, in whole or in part, to third parties. The Museum shall not publish the reproduced material on the Internet or any other publicly accessible media without the written permission of the BLHA. The Museum shall provide the BLHA, upon request, a yearly report regarding third party use of reproductions of archival material subject to this Contract. The report shall include the user's name, the research subject, the purpose of the use, and the archival signatures of the reproductions provided.
