Description: Contains eight black and white photoprints of scenes in Aschau displaced persons camp and an identification card (Kennkarte) for Guti Wanderer. The photographs depict scenes of the ORT training school in Aschau and an Israel independence parade.

Biography: Ruth Wanderer Biheller and other members of her family survived the Holocaust in hiding in Brzezany, Poland (now Berezhany, Ukraine). After liberation by the Russian Army in the summer of 1944, the family made an unsuccessful attempt to immigrate to Palestine. The family entered Aschau displaced persons camp near Munich, Germany, ca. September. 1945 and finally immigrated to the United States in June 1951.
