Postwar war crimes trials related to the Holocaust
Contains materials from trials conducted in the Ukrainian SSR (Soviet Socialist Republic) during and after World War II. The material includes documents from pre-trial investigations by the Ukrainian NKVD (Narodnyĭ komissariat vnutrennikh del), as well as interrogation protocols, indictments, verdicts and sentences, and post-sentencing histories. For each trial, the case number, the regional office, and principal defendant are listed. The collection also contains investigation and trial records of refugees from East and Central Europe who were arrested and interrogated by the Soviet State Security Services (NKVD) for the illegal crossing of the Soviet state border, while escaping from the Nazi persecution in territories of Nazi-occupied Poland.
