The Rein sisters, Marta and Wanda, lived in Łódź, Poland, and together with their mother were imprisoned in the Łódź ghetto. Stella Rein, Marta and Wanda's mother, was a teacher before World War II and in the ghetto. Marta Rein died in the Auschwitz concentration camp.
