    Description
    The Ticho family papers include a hand-delivered letter from Adela and Vilem Ticho delivered by hand to their friend Anna Weinrebová describing events transpiring during the Holocaust in Czechoslovakia. The papers also include two death notices printed after World War II for Vilem Ticho and for Rudy and Pepik (sons of Vilem and Adela Ticho) who perished in the Holocaust.

    Biography
    Adela Tichová (1882-1968) was born Adela Traplová in Dalečín, Czech Republic. She married Vilém (Wilhelm) Ticho (1879-1946) who was born in Lomnice, Czech Republic to Josef and Luise Ticho. The couple had three children: Luisa Josefa (Lili, later Bock, 1910-1996), Rudolf (1913-1942), and Josef (Pepik, 1923-1943). Rudolf perished in Lublin and Josef at Auschwitz.

    Hana Kurfurstova and Eva Pencikova donated the Ticho family papers to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2005. Hana Kurfurstova and Eva Pencikova are the daughters of Anna Weinrebová, a friend of Adela and Vilém Ticho.
