    Interview Summary
    Peter Eugene Weiss, born on February 23, 1939, in Liptovska Tepla, Slovakia, describes being the only child of Alexander and Blanka Ross Weiss; escaping to the woods in 1944 to hide from the Nazis; his family being betrayed and the death of his father in September 1944; being deported with his mother first to the Sered concentration camp and in December 1944 to Theresienstadt (Terezin); being liberated from Terezin in May 1945; immigrating first to Cuba; spending a year in the Dominican Republic; living ten years in Aruba; and immigrating to the United States in 1957.
    At the end of the interview, Peter shows the interviewer photographs from his childhood.

    Peter Eugene Weiss donated this oral history interview to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on July 17, 2007, with the permission and assistance of the Holocaust Museum Houston. The interview was conducted on March 13, 1998 as part of the Holocaust Survivors of Houston Oral History Project.
