- Peter Eugene Weiss, born on February 23, 1939, in Liptovska Tepla, Slovakia, describes being the only child of Alexander and Blanka Ross Weiss; escaping to the woods in 1944 to hide from the Nazis; his family being betrayed and the death of his father in September 1944; being deported with his mother first to the Sered concentration camp and in December 1944 to Theresienstadt (Terezin); being liberated from Terezin in May 1945; immigrating first to Cuba; spending a year in the Dominican Republic; living ten years in Aruba; and immigrating to the United States in 1957.
