    Brief Narrative
    The pencil was used by Helene Reik while she was in the ghetto in Terezín (Theresienstadt), Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic) during the Holocaust.

    Hollow cylindrical two-piece body constructed of black plastic that tapers into metal point; engraved along side of body in white letters is text that reads "RIPET PRIVUS 901K"; black plastic cap that attaches to top of body; metal clip along side of body that is held in place by cap and engraved with text that reads "RIPET."
