    Description
    Collection contains political reports, memoranda, general correspondence, records pertaining to legal, consular, general travel, repatriation, citizenship, charity, deportation, property, real estate, and miscellaneous personal issues, concerning arrested and interned individuals, and requests for information. The documents were created by the general offices and the Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Külügyminisztʹerium), and the Hungarian Embassies in Berlin, Brussels, Rome, Vichy, the Vatican, Washington DC, Bern, and the Hungarian Consulate in Amsterdam.

    Conditions on Access
    This material can only be accessed in a Museum reading room or other on-campus viewing stations. No other access restrictions apply to this material.
    Conditions on Use
    Fair use only. The Museum shall safeguard, use, and limit access to the documents containing protected personal data in accordance with the terms of the November 5, 2003 agreement between the Government of United States of America and the Government of the Republic of Hungary on the protection of personal data. Personal data of individuals mentioned in the records must not be published sooner than 30 years following the death of the person concerned, or if the year of death is unknown, for 90 years following the birth of the person concerned, or if both dates are unknown, for 60 years following the date of issue of the archival material concerned.     Source of acquisition is Yad Vashem. Original records located in the National Archives of Hungary (Magyar Orszʹagos Levʹeltʹar), Budapest, Hungary. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's International Archives Project received the microfilm in Feb. 2005 through its mutual microfilm exchange program.
