    Physical Description
Smooth, rectangular wooden presentation box with a hinged lid. The wood is unstained, with a wax or oiled finish, giving the surface a subtle sheen. The base is constructed from three short pieces of wood adhered together along the sides to form a square with a beveled edge along the top. Attached to the sides of the base are two longer pieces of wood. In the center of the base is a large, circular cavity lined with a thin, circular piece of blue velvet-like cloth, sized to fit a medal (.1.1). The lid of the box is also made from three pieces of wood, which form a larger rectangle, the same length as the sides. The underside of the lid also has a large, circular cavity lined with a thin, circular piece of blue velvet-like cloth, sized to fit the same medal. The hinged lid is attached between the long sides of the at one end, allowing it to rotate up and around. The lid can rotate until the surface meets the beveled edge of the base to form a vertical, triangular stand. When closed, the lid sits flush with the base. The cloth surfaces are worn from use.
