Teddy bear used to hide anti-Nazi political cartoons by a Polish family

Teddy bear belonging to Mrs. Jerzy Kajenski, which was used from 1943-1944 to hide published political cartoons created by Jerzy. The teddy bear is wearing a silver-colored metal pin depicting an eagle. It was donated housed inside a cardboard box with detached lid. The lid is covered with handwriting.

Hand-drawn and handwritten card given to Jerzy Kajetanski by the cast of "Hata Za Wsia" in the Displaced Persons Camp #4 at Gebhardshagen, Germany. Kajetanski is depicted standing on two large books directing the stage light onto a performer.

Contains memoirs, poems, drawings, exhibition pamphlets, clippings, relating to the Kajetanski's family life during the World War II, and later in the Displaced Persons camp in Gebharshagen (Germany), their emigration to the United States in 1950, and later return trips to Poland.
