    Overview

    Description
    Photographs: post-liberation images of victims in the former Mauthausen concentration camp. Images include piles of bodies in wagons, laid and waiting to be buried and placed in mass graves by local Austrian bystanders. Also included is a view of the camp and interior barracks where surviving victims still remained; dated circa May 1945. Photographs belonged to Jacob Yessenow (Joyce Hallet's father) a member of the US Army's 11th Armored Division.
