    Description
    Records relating to Jewish property and its fate after World War II in Chmielnik, mainly in reference to abandoned property. The collection includes official correspondence, descriptions of estates, verdicts of the Court of First Instance, loans and sale of those estates, registration of war damages, birth and death files, and correspondence concerning the matter of searching for individuals who were property owners. Prior to World War II, Jews constituted about 70% of the total population of Chmielnik.

    Conditions on Use
    Reproduction of more than 100 pages of copies of documents for researchers or other institutions requires a written permission of the General Director of the State Archives of the Republic of Poland. Publication of more than 10 complete documents in an individual work requires the written authorization of the General Director.     Source of acquisition is the Archiwum Państwowe w Kielcach, Poland, Sygn. 2129. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Archives received the digitized collection via the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum International Archival Programs Division in March 2017. This is a cooperative project based on the agreement between USHMM and Yad Vashem, Israel.
