Numerous survivors who were aboard the MS St. Louis were interviewed and participated in research Ms. Reif Lehrer completed for a potential publication on the voyage of the ship. Ms. Reif-Lehrer was born in 1934 in Vienna, Austria and, together with her mother and brother, were on the St. Louis, returned to France and fled to the United States through Spain and Portugal.
