Solly Border (born Solly Oisie, 1931-2013) was born on 13 March 1931 in Bucharest, Romania to Yancu and Feiga Border. He had sister, Ella. Solly and his family survived Nazi persecution in Romania during World War II. He studied chemical engineering at the Polytechnic University in Iași, Romania and graduated in 1957. He and his wife Rose and son Lee immigrated to the United States in 1971. Solly worked in real estate and business, and later authored several books. His son Lee died in a helicopter crash while he was serving in the United States Army. Solly died in 2013.
