Susanne was deported to a series of concentration camps with her sister and mother, including Auschwitz, Płaszów and Bergen Belsen. Her mother died at liberation in Bergen-Belsen. The six works of art, which are watercolor on tissue or pastel on paper, document these experiences. Susanne was taken to Sweden after liberation on June 28, 1945 on the Kastleholm, where she recuperated.
