- Offwhite paper scrip with the denomination 50 in the lower left and upper right corners and a 6 point Star of David in the upper left and lower right corner on a purple square within a rectangle of purple interlocking Stars of David, resembling a barbed wire fence, with a 7 branch menorah in the center. There is a light green latticework background. The text denomination 5 PFENNIG is in the center with German text above and below in black ink. The back has a pattern of purple interlocking Stars of David in purple ink, with the denomination 50 in the top corners and German text in the top and bottom center. The serial number, 986245, is printed in orange ink at the bottom center.

It also contains a cigarette case taken from the home of an SS soldier and family that Helen Blum worked as a nanny for.

The Harry and Helen Berger papers consist of wartime identification papers for Helen Berger under her assumed name, Helena Barciszewska, in Lublin, postwar identification papers documenting Harry’s and Helen’s status as displaced persons in Germany, marriage records, immigration papers documenting Helen’s immigration and naturalization, and restitution papers documenting payments Harry received in settlement for claims of “damage to body or health.” The papers also include a 1940 postcard from the Kejer family to S. Meerson, and a 1947 program and Yiddish newspaper clipping documenting performances of Sami Feder’s adaptation of Sholem Aleichem’s, 200,000, oder Dos groyse gevins at the Bergen-Belsen DP camp.
