Joan Schwab (1926-2016) was born Ingeborg Nussbaum to Toni (nee Sichel) and Israel Nussbaum. They arrived separately in May (Ingeborg) and August (Hans) 1939, and lived in London with the Denham family. Their parents were deported from Berlin to Theresienstadt in July 1942 and then in October 1944 to Auschwitz, where they are presumed to have been murdered.
