    Collection Summary
    Trunk brought from Czech Republic with Sonia Fleischmann, who fled Prague to the United Kingdom in 1940. Eva and her sister, Milena Fleischmann, were sent ahead of their parents from Czechoslovakia on Kindertransport, or, a children’s transport to the United Kingdom, in 1939. Backpack used and worn by Eva Fleischmann. Tag worn by Eva while traveling to the UK., photographs of Eva, Milena and the Radcliffe Family who cared for the girls once They arrived in the UK., Identification for “Seina Fleischmannova” and luggage tag, documenting Sonja’s voyage through Oslo, Norway to Liverpool, UK and, according to trunk’s labels, to Hammond Street, Preston, Lancashire, UK, newspaper clipping of Eva’s arrival in Liverpool. Some of these materials may be combined into a single collection in the future.
