    Description
    Lourie family visits Pinsk and Deniskovichi, Belarus in August 1934. Outdoor market. Crowds walk and stand in the market. Three women with bundles on their backs walking in ankle-high water. Horse-drawn carts in the water. Men and women in boats/raft. Scenery and people on boats filmed from a moving boat. Car drives through shallow water and stops. People are helped onto the shore, men push the car in the water. Three men and one woman stand and talk.

    Film Provenance
    The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum digitized several amateur film originals from the Museum of Jewish Heritage (New York) collections in 2019-2020.
    Note
    Refer to MJH sound documentation videotape with Ms. Hilda Lourie (the wife of Leopold's son Paul) describing the activity and people appearing in the films.

    The given title includes the location of "Dunasez" which most likely correlates to Deniskovichi [Deniskowicze], a town 82 km NNE of Pinsk in Belarus.
