Overview
- Description
- A Hebrew-language broadside (mimeographed manuscript) titled "The Day of Fast, Prayer and Cry for Saving the Remnants of the Jewish People from Extermination by the Nazis". It was issued the 14th of Sivan (June) 1944, by the Chief Rabbinate of Haifa, Palestine (now Haifa, Israel).
The broadside details the "prayer and memorial service" conducted at the central synagogue in Hadar Carmel Gilad St. The memorial day's agenda included a mandatory fast for every man and woman above the age of 18 years, sitting in silence on the ground for five minutes, "to mourn the holy and pure… who were cruelly killed and murdered in sanctification of G-d's Name" (Hebrew), prayers and blowing of the Shofar. - Date
