    Collection Summary
    The George and Ruth Salton collection includes the George Salton photographs, the Ruth Salton photographs, and artwork created by George Salton. George Salton photographs depict George Salton after liberation, his parents shortly after their marriage, and Bricha members during the early postwar period. Ruth Salton photographs depict children and Bricha workers, including Ruth Salton, at Bricha centers Szczecin, Poland, between 1946 and 1948. Artwork includes two sketches and a watercolor drawing George Salton created in a displaced persons camp in Germany after the Holocaust depicting a ghetto evacuation and an execution at a mass grave. The collection further includes artwork photoreproductions created by George Salton documenting his experiences during the Holocaust and produced to illustrate his memoir "The 23rd Psalm." Subjects include Tyczyn; Torah desecration; the Rzeszow ghetto; slave labor at Daimler Benz factory; the Plaszow, Flossenbürg, Wattenstadt, Sachsenhausen, Ravensbruck, and Wobbelin camps, and liberation.
